EDMONTON, Alta., — A 74-year-old man found dead in central Edmonton following a family dispute call to police on Monday has been identified as the victim of a homicide, with his son now facing a second-degree murder charge.
An autopsy completed on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, confirmed that Arnie Kik Foon Ng, 74, died from sharp force injuries. Police were originally called to a residence in central Edmonton on Monday, June 1, following reports of a family dispute. Officers located the elder Ng deceased at the scene.
Later that day, a suspect was arrested in west Edmonton. Jeremy Wai Keung Ng, 36, has been formally charged with second-degree murder.
Police confirmed that the deceased and the accused were known to each other. Investigators have not released further details about the nature of their relationship or what led to the deadly altercation.
Jeremy Ng remains in custody. His next court appearance is scheduled for later this week.
