MEADOW LAKE, Alta., — llicit drugs and drug trafficking paraphernalia were seized by Meadow Lake RCMP during a traffic stop on Thunderchild First Nation.
On May 11, at approximately 5:45 p.m., Meadow Lake RCMP Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan (CTSS) activated their vehicle’s emergency equipment and initiated a traffic stop after noticing an SUV that matched the description of a stolen vehicle. Investigation determined that the SUV was the stolen vehicle. Officers arrested the SUV’s three occupants.
During a subsequent search of the SUV, officers located and seized 94 grams of methamphetamine, 11 grams of cocaine, drug trafficking paraphernalia, an imitation firearm and other weapons.
As a result of investigation, 26-year-old Micayla Jimmy, 35-year-old Ashton Martell and 27-year-old Tariq Nicotine, all from Thunderchild First Nation, have been charged with possession of an imitation firearm in the commission of an offence, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, three counts, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, and possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine.
Micayla Jimmy has additionally been charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and two counts of failing to comply court conditions.
They appeared in Onion Lake Provincial Court on May 13.
