On March 19, Manitoba RCMP arrested a second suspect in connection with the shooting death of a 33-year-old Vanessa Bone last summer on the Keeseekoowenin First Nation.
On Thursday, Yellowhead and Russell RCMP officers located Darion Burns, 31, of Keseekoowenin First Nation, as he was driving along Highway 45, initiated a traffic stop and safely took him into custody without incident.
Burns has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, obstructing justice.
Frank La Forge, 52, was arrested and charged last August in connection with the incident.
The homicide occurred July 28, 2025, at a residence in the community, with the female killed and a 26-year-old male seriously injured.
Burns remains in custody. The investigation continues.
