Police responded to a call for a Sexual Assault which occurred on Thursday, January 15, 2026, in the Wellington Street West and Simcoe Street area.
It is alleged that the accused is a professional poker player and the victim met the accused at an event the accused hosted. Police say the accused sexually assaulted the victim.
On Monday, January 19, 2026, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Toronto.
Daniel Kwon, 39, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
- Forcible Confinement
- Sexual Assault
- Sexual Assault With Choking
- three counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of a Schedule III Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5000
He was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 10 a.m., in room 301.
Investigators believe there may be more victims.
