Police say early indications suggest this was a targeted incident
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has identified the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred Friday morning in a quiet residential area of Abbotsford, in an effort to advance its ongoing investigation.
At approximately 9:22 a.m. on October 27, 2025, officers from the Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD) responded to reports of gunfire in the 31300-block of Ridgeview Drive. Upon arrival, police discovered a man suffering from life-threatening injuries. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
IHIT has now confirmed the victim as 68-year-old Darshan Sahsi, a resident of Abbotsford. Investigators believe the incident was targeted, and no other individuals were harmed.
The investigation is being conducted in collaboration with AbbyPD, the BC Coroners Service, and Forensic Identification Services (FIS). Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting or Sahsi’s recent activities to come forward.
Police presence remained visible throughout the day as forensic teams combed the scene for evidence.
“You can expect investigators in the area canvassing for witnesses and processing the crime scene,” says Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT. “As we continue to build a timeline of events, it is important for anyone with information to contact IHIT immediately.”
Investigators are working diligently to determine the motive and the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Homicide investigators are releasing the following CCTV image of a silver Toyota Corolla involved in the homicide and are asking for the public’s help in identifying the occupant.

IHIT is seeking dashcam footage from anyone who was in the area of the 31300-block of Ridgeview Drive on October 27, 2025, between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m.
