Nelson Getson is the city’s 17th homicide victim of 2025
The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is investigating the October 15th shooting of a male on Somerset Street West after the victim died in hospital.
Thirty-eight-year-old Nelson Getson succumbed to gunshot injuries on October 24.
There is no further risk to public safety at this time, say police.
There have been 17 homicides in the City of Ottawa so far this year.
