On Sept. 25, 2025, Alberta RCMP Western Alberta District (WAD) Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) were investigating a known prolific offender, who also had warrants under his name, when he drove onto the back roads of the Fairview area and ditched his vehicle.
The suspect, as well as a female passenger, were seen exiting the vehicle and fleeing on foot. Fairview RCMP Detachment, as well as Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services, were called in to assist, resulting in the arrest of both individuals. A search of the individuals and the vehicle revealed two firearms. The vehicle was confirmed stolen out of Peace River, Alta.
As a result of the investigation, Malcom Henry Testawits (41) and Amy Lee Lacosse (39), both of no fixed address, were charged with:d
- Dangerous driving;
- Possession of property obtained by crime; and
- Firearm-related offences (x7).
Testawits was also charged with:
- Assaulting police officer;
- Possession of firearm or weapon while prohibited (x3); and
- Operation of vehicle while unauthorized.
Testawits and Lacosse were brought before a justice of the peace who remanded them into custody. They are to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Fairview on Sept. 29, 2025.
