One person has been charged with second degree murder following a suspicious death that occurred on June 20, 2025.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, Cameron McIndoe, a 37-year-old resident of the Comox Valley, has been charged with second degree murder. He was arrested on July 9, 2025 and remains in custody.
The investigation began after police received a report of a sudden death at a residence. Investigators attended the residence and quickly developed concerns surrounding the circumstances of the death. Comox Valley RCMP officers had the residence secured for several days to conduct a thorough forensic examination.
An autopsy has since confirmed that the death was a homicide.
“Our Major Crime Unit has worked diligently to uncover the full circumstances of what occurred, and that work continues as the matter proceeds through the courts
,” said Staff Sergeant Jonah Todd, Plainclothes Commander of the Comox Valley RCMP.
The accused and the victim were known to each other. At no point during the investigation was there any indication of a risk to the broader public.
Police said McIndoe and the victim, who remains unnamed, were known to each other.
