On March 18 at approximately 11:30 a.m., Saskatchewan RCMP’s Roving Traffic Unit were making proactive patrols and conducted a traffic stop of an SUV on Highway 1, west of Regina.
During the investigation with help from a Saskatchewan RCMP police service dog, officers located and seized approximately one kilogram of cocaine inside the vehicle.
Jalil Wahab, 41, from Calgary, Alta., who told investigators he was travelling from Alberta to Manitoba, was arrested at the scene.
Wahab is charged with trafficking cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
Wahab is scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on May 29.
Saskatchewan Highway Patrol officers with the Provincial Protective Services Branch and Regina Police Service assisted in this investigation.
