RCMP arrest man.
On Mar. 14, 2024, Fort Saskatchewan RCMP received a call about a mental health concern at a residence in Fort Saskatchewan. Upon arrival, officers located the suicidal person and placed them under arrest under the mental health act.
An altercation occurred resulting in the officer delivering a strike to the prisoner. The prisoner was taken to the hospital for treatment and assessment.
On May 2, 2024, the victim lodged a complaint with the RCMP regarding being struck. The RCMP investigated and on Feb. 25, 2025, RCMP charged Constable Justin Forster with Assault Causing Bodily Harm.
Constable Forster has a first appearance date set for April 3, 2025, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort Saskatchewan.
After being charged, Constable Forester was placed on administrative duties.
