RCMP arrest man.
No injuries were reported from the incident
On Feb. 20 2025, at approximately 1 p.m., members of the Lloydminster RCMP located a stolen vehicle that was occupied. During the interaction between officers and the vehicle’s occupants, a confrontation occurred, resulting in an officer discharging their service firearm.
The vehicle fled the scene and, a short time later, collided with a residence. Officers then arrested two individuals. No injuries have been reported from the incident.
Jeffrey Gervais, 31, of Lloydminster, has been charged with assault on a police officer with a weapon, dangerous driving, theft of a vehicle, possession of property over $5,000 obtained by crime, flight from a peace officer, resisting a peace officer, two counts of failing to comply with a release order condition, and driving while prohibited.
Gervais was taken before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 25, 2025, at the Court of Justice in Lloydminster.
Treston Cataract, 28, of Lloydminster, has been charged with
theft of a vehicle, possession of property over $5000 obtained by crime, and resisting a peace officer.
Treston was taken before a Justice of the Peace and was released on a Release Order. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 11, 2025, at the Court of Justice in Lloydminster.
Due do the discharge of an officers service firearm, ASIRT was consulted and it was deemed within their scope. However, ASIRT has directed the RCMP to investigate.
