A 19-year-old driver has been sentenced to over four years in jail after he was found guilty of Dangerous Operation that resulted in the death of an 18-year-old girl and seriously injured three others.
On February 3, 2025, Denrick ROSE was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison and a 10-year drivers licence suspension.
On February 27, 2024, Denrick ROSE, from the City of Brampton, was charged with Dangerous Operation Cause Death, Dangerous Operation Cause Bodily Harm x3 and Fail to Comply with Release Order. At the time of the collision, ROSE was on a release order for previous unrelated charges. He has remained in custody since his arrest.
On Sunday, February 18, 2024, shortly before 7 a.m., police were called to the intersection of King Road and 8th Concession, in the Township of King, for a single vehicle collision. When officers arrived, they found a black Infiniti G37 had struck a light pole. There were six occupants in the vehicle at the time. A female was pronounced deceased at the scene, while three others suffered serious injuries. The driver was uninjured.
Through investigation it was learned the vehicle was travelling over 200 kilometers an hour prior to the collision.
