Nova Major Crime Unit investigating homicide in Virginia East

The RCMP Southwest Nova Major Crime Unit, with assistance from the Annapolis District RCMP, is investigating the homicide of a 66-year-old Virginia East man.

On August 31, 2024, at approximately 8:20 a.m., Annapolis District RCMP responded to a report of a sudden death at a residence on Virginia Rd. in Virginia East. RCMP officers located a 66-year-old man deceased and the death has been ruled a homicide. The investigation is in the initial stages and no further information will be released at this time.

The investigation is being supported by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office, RCMP Northeast Nova Major Crime Unit, RCMP Forensic Identification Services, RCMP Police Dog Services and Kings District RCMP.
