RCMP IHIT seeking witnesses and video in relation to Ridge Meadows homicide

BC RCMP Ridge Meadows, Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) investigators have identified the victim as 58-year-old Christine Rogers, from Maple Ridge. Rogers’ name is being released to the public by police in an effort to advance the investigation and build a timeline of her activities leading up to the homicide.

IHIT is working in partnership with the BC Coroners Service, Integrated Forensic Identification Services (IFIS), and Ridge Meadows RCMP to complete priority tasks and continue with video canvassing in the area.

Preliminary information indicates that this is an isolated event and there is no ongoing risk to public safety.

On July, 21, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Ridge Meadows RCMP responded to reports of an injured woman in the area of 232 Street and 132 Avenue in Maple Ridge. Ridge Meadows RCMP front line officers attended the scene and located a woman suffering from serious injuries.

BC Emergency Health Services (BC EHS) and Maple Ridge Fire Department (MRFD) attended and performed life-saving measures but she succumbed to her injures. At approximately 3:25 p.m., the she was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Ridge Meadows RCMP Investigational Support Team (IST) and Serious Crimes Unit (SCU) also attended the scene.
