IHIT investigating suspicious death of Wenyan Michael Zhao, 17, of Langley in Surrey

Wenyan Michael Zhao, 17, of Langley, B.C. has been found deceased in the Port Kells area and Surrey RCMP say his death is suspicious and Surrey, Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over the investigation.

His body was found at about 5:30 a.m. on July 19.

Zhao was reported missing by his family on the evening of July 18, 2024. He was last seen in the 5900-block of 206 Street in Langley.

IHIT is looking for information regarding the movement of Wenyan between 9 p.m. on July 18 to 5:30 a.m. on July 19, 2024.
