A man who police were looking to identify in relation to a homicide at a hotel in Shawnessy has been identified, located and charged.
Ahmed Abdi Hassan, 29, has been charged with one count of second-degree murder in connection to the fatal shooting of Liban Abdirahman that occurred on Monday, March 25, 2024, at the Super 8 hotel located at 60 Shawville Road S.E.
Hassan was located in Red Deer and taken into custody with assistance from the Red Deer RCMP. He was taken to Calgary and remains in custody.
Hassan will next appear in court on July 11, 2024.
