Edmonton Police seek public’s assistance locating armed robbery suspects

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is seeking the public’s assistance in locating two suspects wanted regarding an armed carjacking and multiple armed robberies.

Michael Sanderson, 35 and Brandon Gariepy, 38, are wanted in connection with three robberies in Edmonton in recent weeks. On June 5, 2024, the two were caught on surveillance cameras robbing a restaurant near 130 Avenue and 82 Street, where they were armed with bear spray and a sawed-off shotgun.

Sanderson and Gariepy have also been identified as suspects in an armed carjacking in the area of 132 Avenue and 82 Street on June 12, and a theft from a Wetaskiwin Walmart on June 16. Then on June 17, the pair was again caught on video surveillance robbing a cannabis shop at 131 Avenue and 82 Street, where they produced a handgun while robbing the clerk of cash and a safe.

Both males are wanted in Moose Jaw, SK for robbery-related charges as well, and warrants issued by the Moose Jaw Police Service have been extended to Alberta.

Sanderson is 5’8” tall and approximately 150 lbs, with blonde or light brown hair and blue eyes. Gariepy is 5’6” tall and approximately 156 lbs, with brown hair. They are believed to be in the Edmonton area, and are considered armed and dangerous.
