An Edmonton man has been charged with child luring, sexual assault, and sexual interference and police believe there may be more victims.
Kendrik Bozman, 29, appears in Alberta Court of Justice in Stony Plain on May 8. He has been released on conditions on April 25 after appearing before the Justice of the Peace.
On April 22 Parkland RCMP began investigating a complaint of child luring and sexual assault of a youth. The fast-evolving investigation included two judicial authorizations to search an Edmonton residence and a motor vehicle. With the assistance of the ZEBRA Centre and the Parkland RCMP General Investigation Section.
Bozman was arrested on April 24.
Resources have been provided to support the family and the victim.
Police are investigating the possibility that there could be additional victims in Alberta.
In this case the victim and suspect were not known to each other and that Snapchat was utilized to lure the youth. Bozman utilizes the Snapchat profile name “Dagshelgr” and police advise that it is not uncommon for perpetrators to utilize alternative social media platforms and different user names. Police encourage parents to talk to their children about this incident and immediately report to the police if there has been any contact with Bozman.
Police also encourage parents to talk to their children about internet safety. Parkland RCMP encourages the public, including parents, families and youth to visit the Canadian Centre for Child Protection website for additional resources.
To protect the identity of the youth, there is a publication ban, and the victim cannot be named.
