Lac La Biche RCMP executed a search warrant March 15 in a firearms investigation and arrested 48-year-old Darren Emile Cadieux. He was also wanted on three outstanding warrants.
RCMP Emergency Response Team, RCMP Police Dog Services, and RCMP East Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit assisted. Police seized four firearms, a large quantity of ammunition, and a prohibited device.
Cadieux was additionally charged with two counts of uttering threats, resisting arrest, two counts of unsafe storage of a firearm, three counts of possession of a firearm contrary to a court order, possession of a prohibited device, and six counts of breach of a conditional sentence order.
Following a judicial hearing, Cadieux was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear March. 18, in Lac La Biche Court of Justice.
