Edmonton Police charged Muktar Mohammed-Ali, 19, with second-degree murder in the death of 38-year-old Ryan Lariviere.
On Feb. 26, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Northeast Branch patrol officers responded to a residence in the area of 147 Avenue and 77 Street to investigate the report of a shooting. When they arrived they found the man in medical distress and provided first aid until EMS arrived on scene. Paramedics attended and treated him but he was declared deceased at the scene.
Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate as it is believed that additional suspects were involved in this homicide.
