Chilliwack RCMP release photos of truck seen in area where body found, seek tips

Chilliwack RCMP are asking the public’s help identifying the driver of a red truck seen driving along Chilliwack Central Road on Feb. 16 where a body was found.

On Feb. 17, police responded to a call a deceased male in a drainage ditch on Chilliwack Central Road between Prest Road and Broadway Avenue. The Chilliwack RCMP General Investigation Support Team is working with the BC Coroner’s Office have identified the deceased but police say his name isn’t being released to the public at this time. The male was known to police.

The Chilliwack RCMP is now seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the driver of a red truck that was seen driving along Chilliwack Central Road on February 16, 2024 between 5 pm and 7 pm.

“We are treating the driver as a witness at this time and are urging them or the owner of the vehicle to come forward to assist us in advancing the investigation,” says Cpl. Carmen Kiener of the Chilliwack RCMP.

“We are also seeking witnesses who may have seen the male walking along Chilliwack Central Road between Broadway Avenue and Prest Road during that time frame. The deceased male was wearing a black jacket, grey pants, and carrying a beige duffel bag.”
