A security guard is dead after fighting a male suspect in the HSBC parkade in the area of 101 Street and 102 Avenue in Edmonton.
Edmonton Police Service say that at about 5:50 a.m. on Feb. 20, their Downtown Branch patrol officers responded to the report of a male suspect fighting with security in a parkade. When police arrived, the security guard was located in medical distress. Paramedics treated and took him to hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation and are combing through video surveillance from the area as the suspect is still outstanding.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024.
