A 32-year-old woman, Chantal Lee McLaren, and a 34-year-old man, Edin Dion Vrazalica, were charged with first-degree murder in Saskatoon’s first homicide of 2024.
Following an autopsy, a 25-year-old Alberta man was identified as the victim of homicide; at the request of his family, police will not be releasing the victim’s name at this time.
The suspect and victim are believed to be known to one another.

On February 3, 2024, police responded to a residence in the 600 block of Lisgar Avenue for an aggravated assault. There, officers located a deceased male inside the residence. Following an investigation by the SPS Major Crime and Forensic Identification Sections, a 32-year-old woman has been charged with First Degree Murder.
This is Saskatoon’s first homicide of 2024. In 2023, Saskatoon recorded 12 homicides, of which charges were laid in nine occurrences.
