On Jan. 16, Nanaimo RCMP ruled the death of a 33-year-old woman to be a homicide.
On Jan., the Nanaimo RCMP responded to a request for a wellness check of the Nanaimo woman. Before police arrived at her apartment, several witnesses went to the same unit. Inside the apartment, they encountered an unidentified man, along with the deceased person.
Despite the efforts of witnesses, the unidentified man fled and couldn’t be located. The man who was in the apartment and had fled, was later identified and has spoken with police.
Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a gray 2007 Nissan Sentra with BC plate SP272P (stock photo) that was reported stolen and is related to the investigation.

“This investigation is ongoing and at this time, police do not believe there is any risk to the public,” said R/Cst Gary O’Brien of the Nanaimo RCMP.
