Sûreté du Québec police in the MRC of Joliette arrested a 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old woman, both from Joliette, for possession of a prohibited weapon and negligent use of a firearm.
A search at a home on rue du Précieux-Sang in Joliette resulted in the seizure of two handguns, one was loaded.
These arrests are a continuation of an investigation initiated on Dec. 9 when the police received information about an armed individual in Joliette. A security perimeter had been established on Richard Street. The suspect had made various threats, including attacking the police. The SQ tactical intervention group arrested Eddy Clément Irambona, 30, from Joliette. He is charged with threats, possession of a firearm, negligent use of a firearm and breach of conditions. He appeared on December 10.
