A former teacher at a Montreal private high school pleaded guilty Dec. 15 in a Quebec court to sending porn to students. Alexandre Gagné, 49, will be sentenced in March 2024.
Gagné admitted that he sent nudge photos of himself to two students he taught at College Stanislas.
A stay of proceedings was entered on a charge of sexual assault, according to media reports.
The prosecutor told the court that Gagné started online chats with some of his students during the pandemic. Some of those conversations became sexual.
He started chatting online with one student when she was 14 and the conversations turned sexual when she turned 16, court heard.
Photos sent on Snapchat are meant to disappear quickly, but the teen had taken screenshots on her phone of some that he sent.
Gagné also sent her a photo of an erect penis and told her that it was from a subscription service used mainly by sex workers to sell pornography.
He also sent similar images to another 16-year-old student, court heard.
