Surrey RCMP is working with Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) following the discovery of a deceased person in Newton on Sunday morning.
On Dec. 10, 2023 at approximately 9 a.m., Surrey RCMP was called to 12100-block of 62 Avenue for the report of suspicious vehicle. Police found the deceased person in the vehicle.
IHIT has been deployed and is working in partnership with Surrey RCMP to determine the circumstances of the death and if criminality was a factor.
Police are currently in the evidence gathering phase; no further information will be provided at this time. Further details and media availability will be handled by the IHIT Media Relations Officer.
