A man who was supposed to be committed to a provincial psychiatric hospital after being found not criminally responsible for sexual assault, assaults and weapons offences is on the loose.
Toronto Police say that James Alston, 42, was last seen on Wednesday, Dec. 6, in the Queen Street and Ossington Avenue area.
Alston is described as 5’7″ and 214 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

He is currently bound by a Form 49 Warrant of Committal after being found not criminally responsible for sexual assault, aggravated assault, and two counts of assault with a weapon.
If you see Alston, do not approach and call 9-1-1 immediately.

A Warrant of Committal is issued by the Ontario Review Board when a person is found Not Criminally Responsible in court. The Warrant of Committal “Disposition of Detention” commits the person to the custody of a provincial psychiatric hospital and subjects them to abide by certain conditions.
