Winnipeg Police are searching for murder suspect 24-year-old Chad Jason Dandan who may have fled to northern Manitoba area.
Dandan is charged with first degree murder, kidnapping and extortion in the death of Zeyad Vifan Shammo in September 2024 in Winnipeg.
On Sept. 10, 2024, Winnipeg Police Major Crimes took over the investigation of the homicide of Zeyad Vifan Shammo, a 22-year-old male from Ontario. Police had responded to the 300 block of Bridge Lake Drive for a report that Shammo had gone missing and later determined that he was abducted. He was found three days later on Sept. 13, 2024, deceased in a home in the 100 block of Bristol Ave.
At that time, police charged two people, 26-year-old Sonny Balemba and 26-year-old Robert James Chaykowski, who were known to the victim. They were charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping and extortion.
Police also said that Dandan was wanted in connection to the murder and they were searching for him.
Dandan is described as a south Asian male, approximately 5-foot-6 with a medium build and about 140 pounds.

Dandan may be armed and dangerous and should not be approached if encountered.
