Sidney/North Saanich RCMP is investigating a bank robbery and are appealing to the public for information to help identify the suspect.
On March 24, 2025, at approximately 2:05 p.m., Sidney/North Saanich RCMP received a report of a bank robbery which occurred at the Scotiabank located at 2355 Beacon Ave in Sidney. A suspect entered the bank, approached the teller, and produced a note which demanded cash.
The suspect then exited the bank with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen on foot southbound from the bank towards Bevan Ave.
Sidney/North Saanich RCMP responded to the area with the assistance of the Central Saanich Police Service and the RCMP Police Dog Service, however the suspect was not located.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male who is approximately 5-foot-8 with a stocky build. He was wearing a wearing a black coat with fur around the hood, black pants, black sneakers and a black backpack. He had on a surgical face mask.
Police are seeking anyone with information, including surveillance video/or dash camera footage from the area between 1:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. to contact the Sidney/North Saanich RCMP at 250-656-3931.
