An Alberta man has been arrested after he poured gasoline on a commercial building and lit it on fire.
On June 19, 2024, at 7:58 a.m., Innisfail RCMP received a report of an individual spraying gasoline on a commercial building East of Innisfail. While en route RCMP were advised that the suspect had lit the gasoline and business was on fire. Reports also indicated that the suspect had fled in a vehicle.
RCMP quickly located the vehicle and suspect, who was arrested. Fire crews were able to extinguish the blaze but there was significant damage to the building. No injuries were reported.
RCMP have charged Clearwater County resident Tyler John Giglia, 39, with arson, and break and enter with intent.
Giglia was taken before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody with his next court date set for June 20 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer.
