CALGARY, Alta. — Calgary police have laid additional sexual assault charges against a Calgary massage therapist after four new victims came forward following a media release issued earlier this year.
In July 2026, Calgary police charged a massage therapist with sexual assault in connection with an incident that occurred during a massage appointment in August 2025 at Kinesio Massage Therapy, located at 3949 17 Ave. S.W.
Following the release of that information, investigators received reports from four additional victims alleging similar incidents.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, on Oct. 1, investigators executed a search warrant at Kinesio Massage Therapy and arrested the suspect. Cellular phones were also seized for forensic analysis.
Investigators have now charged the suspect with four additional counts of sexual assault.
Yuriy Zhivov, 53, of Calgary, is now charged with a total of five counts of sexual assault.
Zhivov is scheduled to next appear in court on Dec. 9.
In Canada, there is no time limit on reporting a sexual assault. Anyone who believes they are a victim of sexual assault is encouraged to report it, even if many years have passed since the incident.
