FORT MCMURRAY, Alta – On April 21, Wood Buffalo RCMP began a theft investigation after receiving a report of a storage unit in an apartment complex was broken into. The offence occurred between March 27, and April 20, in the Timberlea area of Fort McMurray.
Hours of video footage were obtained and viewed by RCMP. Suspects were captured entering the storage area and departing with several belongings on April 12 and on April 18.
The male suspect was identified by RCMP and arrested without incident on Aug 19.
Len Labelle, a 38-year-old male resident of Fort McMurray is facing a charge of theft over $5,000.
Labelle was held in police custody for a Judicial Interim Release hearing and has since been released. He is set to appear next in the Alberta Court of Justice on Aug. 26.
An additional female suspect was observed on video footage.
