MORINVILLE, Alta. – Police in Morinville have arrested a 34-year-old Edmonton man following an investigation into sexual acts involving a 15-year-old, and they believe there may be more victims.
The investigation began on Nov. 14, 2025, when Morinville RCMP received a complaint about an adult male allegedly engaging in sexual acts with a teenager. The offences are said to have occurred between Sept. 1, 2025, and Nov. 14, 2025.
The RCMP’s General Investigation Section (GIS) took over the case and uncovered disturbing details. Investigators say the suspect used the social media platform Snapchat to lure the victim, then picked the teen up from school and brought them to his apartment on multiple occasions.
Following a thorough investigation, police identified and arrested Jaswindra Nath, 34, of Edmonton. He has been charged with:
- Sexual interference (two counts)
- Child luring
- Arranging a sexual offence with a child
- Obtaining sexual services for consideration from a person under 18
Nath was brought before a justice of the peace and released under conditions. He is scheduled to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Edmonton on May 28, 2026.
Police are concerned there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward. According to the RCMP, Nath has used the Snapchat aliases “yegnut” and “yegnutn,” and often goes by the first name “Jash.” A photograph of the accused has been released by authorities to assist in identification.
