On March 13, Breton RCMP received a report of a wanted prolific offender in Brazeau County. Investigation led officers to a rural residence when the suspect was located and arrested.
On March 14, Breton RCMP with assistance from the Central Alberta General Investigation Section and the Community Response Team executed a search warrant at the same rural property and seized.
- A stolen truck;
- A stolen Skidoo;
- 5.7 pounds of Cannabis;
- A firearm with ammunition;
- 3 other vehicles that are currently being examined as potentially stolen.
As a result, RCMP have executed multiple arrest warrants on 38-year-old Kyle Lavoie who has additionally been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.
Kyle Lavoie was taken before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody. He has since been released with his next court date set for May 5 at the Albert Court of Justice in Drayton Valley.
36-year-old Derek Lavoie has been charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000;
- Weapons offences (x3);
- Failing to comply with a probation order (x2);
- Possession of Illicit cannabis (Cannabis Act).
Derek Lavoie has been taken before a Justice of the Peace and released from custody with his next court date set for April 22 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Drayton Valley.
