Alannah Brown and her boyfriend Douglas Barker were found dead in a burned-out car near the Kickininee Provincial Park pull-out on Sept. 15, 2022.
The E-Division District Major Crime Unit (E Division MCU) has laid charges in relation to a 2022 double homicide in the Penticton area.
The BC Prosecution Service (BCPS) has approved two counts of first-degree murder against 36-year-old Yves “Oliver” Grenier in connection with the deaths of Douglas Barker and Alannah Brown. The charges were sworn on March 6, 2026. Grenier has since been arrested and remains in custody.
The investigation began in September 2022 after police were called to the Penticton area for a report of two deceased individuals. Since that time, Major Crime investigators have continued to advance the file through evidence collection, witness interviews, and forensic analysis.
Previously, in July 2025, BCPS charged three individuals, and one other person in November 2025, in connection with these homicides.
The BC Prosecution Service have approved the following charges:
- Jilane King with first-degree murder of Douglas Barker and accessory after the fact to the homicide of both Barker and Brown.
- Simon Bourbonnais with charges of accessory after the fact for the murder of both Barker and Brown, along with the unlawful confinement of Brown and indignity to human remains of both victims. Additionally, he is charged with manslaughter of Allanah Brown.
- Tyler Stuart is charged with accessory after the fact to the murders of both Barker and Brown, and indignity to human remains.
