On Feb. 24, 2026, at approximately 11:25 a.m., Ponoka RCMP responded to a rural residence in Ponoka County for a report of a sudden death. Upon arrival, a 92-year-old male was located deceased. The circumstances surrounding his death appear to be suspicious.
RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation. An autopsy will be performed on Feb. 26, 2026, at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Calgary.
