On December 24, 2025, at approximately 10:30 a.m., the Langley RCMP received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of 19900 block of Willowbrook Drive, Langley.
At approximately 10:36 a.m., two Langley RCMP officers attended the location and observed the driver still slumped over the wheel. As one officer attempted to wake the driver, the driver suddenly regained consciousness, placed the vehicle in drive, and intentionally rammed the marked police cruiser, which had its emergency equipment activated. The suspect vehicle continued to push the police vehicle before fleeing the area westbound on Willowbrook Drive at a high rate of speed.
Officers were forced to quickly move out of the way to avoid being struck by the vehicle. No injuries were reported. Subsequent investigation determined that the licence plates on the vehicle were stolen and had been switched.
“This was an extremely dangerous situation that put both officers and members of the public at significant risk,” said Sergeant Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP. “The driver’s decision to use a vehicle as a weapon and flee at a high rate of speed is unacceptable, and investigators are actively working to identify and locate those responsible.”
This investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information, dash-cam footage, or CCTV from the Willowbrook Drive area around the time of the incident is asked to contact Langley RCMP and quote file number 2025- 41931.
