Daniel Golub, 30, faces multiple trafficking and breach charges following a joint investigation.
The Wetaskiwin RCMP Crime Reduction Unit and Leduc Drug Unit have charged a repeat offender with drug trafficking following an investigation into his court-ordered conditions.
In September 2025, the units began investigating to ensure compliance with the man’s 18-month Community Sentence Order and Release Order. These orders stemmed from previous drug trafficking investigations in July and October 2024.
Police observed the suspect breaching the conditions of his orders on multiple occasions between September and December 2025.
On Dec. 17, 2025, with assistance from the Central Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit and Police Dog Services, the suspect was arrested for breaching his orders. During the arrest, police observed drug paraphernalia inside the suspect’s vehicle.
The Wetaskiwin General Investigation Section obtained a search warrant to search the vehicle and a holiday trailer. The search resulted in the seizure of $8,269 in Canadian currency, approximately 171 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 7.1 grams of cocaine, and 40 ml of gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB).
RCMP have charged Leduc resident Daniel Golub, 30, with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, methamphetamine and GHB. He also faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, resisting a peace officer, three counts of failing to comply with a release order, and eight counts of breaching a Community Sentence Order.
Daniel Golub was brought before a Justice of the Peace. He is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Ponoka on Dec. 19, 2025.
“Repeat offenders who continue to disregard court orders and engage in drug trafficking will be a priority for Wetaskiwin RCMP,” said Cpl. Learn of the Wetaskiwin RCMP Crime Reduction Unit.
“Collaboration between specialized units is critical in drug investigations,” said Cst. Scott Hansen of the Leduc RCMP Drug Unit.
