Calgary police charged a man in relation to an incident in the northwest community of Dalhousie that resulted in an officer-involved shooting.
At about 11:30 a.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2025, Calgary police were called for reports of a man with a knife acting aggressively towards a peace officer in the Dalhousie LRT Station parking lot.
Police officers located the man and an altercation occurred, resulting in one Calgary Police Service (CPS) member discharging their Service firearm and striking the man.
The man was transported to the hospital in serious but stable condition.
As a result of the investigation into the man’s actions prior to the shooting, Cody DUQUETTE, 23, has been charged with:
- Three counts of assaulting a peace officer with a weapon
- One count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Two counts of failure to comply with a release order
He will next appear in court tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 19, 2025.
The officer-involved shooting remains under investigation with the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT).
