A delivery driver has been arrested for stealing a package he claimed to have delivered successfully.
In Mid-October, an east-end resident contacted police to report a package theft. She had ordered a pair of pants online and had them delivered to her condo building. The delivery driver sent an email with a photo of the package inside the building’s parcel locker, but when the victim went to retrieve the package it was gone.
The building manager reviewed security video, which showed the delivery driver placing the package in the locker, snapping a photo of it and then removing the package and carrying it out of the building.
On Wednesday a 28-year-old Kitchener man was arrested for theft under $5,000. He will appear in court December 23.
