The Toronto Police Service has announced a significant arrest following a major retail theft investigation, resulting in the seizure of 1,880 bottles of high-end perfume and cologne valued at approximately $319,000.
The investigation, dubbed “Project Essence,” began on Monday, September 29, 2025, after investigators from the 22 Division Major Crime Unit identified a pattern of thefts from multiple retail stores across the city.
As a result of a thorough investigation, we were able to identify a location where we believed the stolen property was being stored.
Following the initial probe, investigators obtained a search warrant for a residence in the neighbouring town of Milton. The warrant was executed on October 13, 2025.
Upon searching the property, officers discovered and seized a massive haul of stolen fragrances. Police have released a photograph showing hundreds of boxes of high-end perfumes and colognes stacked throughout the residence.
Issam Ahmad, a 23-year-old from Milton, was arrested at the scene.
