On Sept. 18, at approximately 7:53 am, Wood Buffalo RCMP received a report of an overnight theft from the Fort McMurray Golf Course in the Wood Buffalo area of Fort McMurray. Between 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m., two individuals arrived at the Fort McMurray Golf Course on a single yellow dirt bike and proceeded to cause damage to two beer carts. The passenger then stole a golf cart from the property and drove it to the greenspace near Eagle Ridge Commons, located at 116 Eagle Ridge Boulevard. It was later recovered behind a sea can at that location. There was noted damages to the golf cart.

The first suspect is described as:
- Wearing a full face helmet with a headlight
- Red hoodie
- Yellow and black pants
- Black boots
The second suspect is described as:
- Wearing a black full face helmet
- Black hoodie
- White or grey sweatpants
- Black shoes
