On Sept. 27, at 6:53 am, Dauphin RCMP responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 5, one km east of the intersection with Highway 10.
A Dodge Ram collided head-on with a semi-trailer carrying two loads of bricks.
RCMP, fire and EMS all attended the scene.
The 22-year-old male driver of the truck from Minitonas, fell asleep and crossed the centre line. He was extracted from the vehicle and taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. He was able to walk away from the scene.



The 47-year-old male driver of the semi from Winnipeg suffered minor injuries.
Neither speed nor alcohol/drugs appear to be a factor.
Dauphin RCMP and Manitoba RCMP Traffic Analyst continue to investigate.
