On Jan. 17, 2024, Blackfalds RCMP received a report that an employee of a local business had been stealing from the business over several years. The investigation was assigned to the Blackfalds General Investigations Section. Investigation revealed that the employee had taken more than $500 000.
On Sept. 10, 2025, RCMP arrested and charged female Blackfalds resident Tristyn Caylee Torris (37) with:
- Theft over $5000;
- Fraud over $5000;
- Forgery.
Torris has been released with her next court date set for Oct. 29, 2025 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer.
