Lyndon McIvor was 25 years old when he went missing after enjoying a night out with friends on Lake Manitoba First Nation on August 26, 2023.
The search for Lyndon ended five days later when his body was discovered in a wooded area in the community on August 31st.
Manitoba RCMP Major Crime Services has continued to investigate Lyndon’s homicide and believes there are people in the community who can provide important information in this active investigation.
Today, Lyndon’s mother, Cheryl Maytwayashing is making a public, and very personal, plea in hopes of assisting the investigators.

“It’s hard, it happened in our community, everyone knows each other and when something happens it affects all of us,” said Maytwayashing. “If it’s your child, your grandchild, niece, nephew, ask them to talk, because it’s affecting a lot of people. We don’t want this to happen to another family. People do know what happened.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Major Crime Services Tip line at 431-489-8110.
