The Alberta RCMP have laid charges in connection with a fatal hit and run on Siksika Nation on July 26, 2025. The deceased have been identified as 27-year-old Trayton Runningbird and 45 year-old Clifton Saddleback. A third victim, a 45-year-old woman, remains in hospital in critical condition.
As a result of the investigation, the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has arrested and charged 27-year-old Siksika Nation resident, Adolphus Weaselchild, with two counts of first-degree murder and attempted murder.
Weaselchild has been taken before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody with future court dates at the Alberta Court of Justice in Drumheller.
