Calgary Police Homicide Unit continues to investigate the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Madisson Cobb, which occurred over the weekend in the southwest community of Haysboro. Police have taken one person into custody in relation to the incident and recovered a vehicle believed to involved in the incident.
At approximately 4:30 p.m., on July 19, 2025, Calgary police responded to reports of gunshots in a parking garage at the Shops at Heritage, located at 8835 Macleod Tr. S.W.
Upon arrival, police and emergency services personnel located the victim suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds, however, despite lifesaving efforts, Madisson was declared deceased at the scene.
Thanks to tips from the public, on July 20, 2025, the white Toyota RAV4 believed to be connected to the incident was recovered by police. In addition, on July 21, one man was taken into custody at the Super 8 motel, located in the 7500 block of Macleod Trail S.W., in relation to this investigation.
This incident is believed to be targeted and Calgary police say they are no longer looking for additional suspects.
An autopsy is scheduled for July 22.
