On March 4, 2025, with the assistance of the Edmonton Police Service, the Winnipeg Police Homicide Unit went to the Edmonton Institution for Women in Edmonton, Alberta, and arrested 35-year-old Kendra Leanne SINCLAIR and charged her with second-degree murder.
On Sep. 21, 2021 shortly before 8:45 a.m., a fire occurred at 510 Young Street. A female victim, 44-year old Faye SANDERSON, was found deceased within the residence. The initial investigation revealed that the fire had been deliberately set and foul play was involved.
SANDERSON was a member of Mosakahiken Cree Nation who was residing in Winnipeg at the time of her death.

After extensive efforts over the years by Winnipeg Police Homicide Unit a female suspect was identified. It was revealed through investigation that suspect and deceased were previously known to one another. They were cousins.
Sinclair was remanded in custody.
