On January 24, 2025, Iqaluit RCMP’s General Investigation Section (GIS), executed a search warrants on two residences located on Ikaluktuutiaq Drive and charged two men with multiple offenses.
Following the search police seized one ounce of cocaine, $17,000 in cash, a loaded handgun, pepper/bear spray, multiple cell phones, a stolen firearm, and three Polar Bear carvings which police believe were stolen. If you believe you know who they belong to, please contact the Iqaluit RCMP.

Police have charged Khalil Gebara, 42, with trafficking a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime, three counts of Possession of a firearm obtained by the commission of a criminal offence, two counts of Careless storage of a firearm, possession of a prohibited weapon without holding a license, and possession of a prohibited firearm without a license.
Khalil Gebara was remanded into custody and his next court appearance is scheduled for February 11, 2025, in Iqaluit, Nunavut.
Police have also charged Nadeem Gebara, 40, with trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime.
Nadeem Gebara was released from custody and his next court appearance is scheduled for February 27, 2025, in Iqaluit, Nunavut.
“Taking any drugs off the streets has a positive effect on our community, making a seizure like this puts a dent in the selling of these harmful substances, and has a positive ripple effect into the prevention of property crime, which is fueled from the buying of drugs,” said Cst. Dave Mills of the Iqaluit RCMP’s GIS unit.
